Time For A Thorough Eye Test

An eye examination is so much more than a sight test – it's a comprehensive assessment of the state of health of your entire eye.

We keep detailed records so that we can compare vision and eye health results every time you visit us and identify any issues early, which greatly improves treatment outcomes.

Your appointment will not be rushed and we tailor your eye examination to your individual needs using the latest in optical technology for more accurate results.

Follow Up Advice Tailored To You

When prescribing glasses or contact lenses we will take into account the demands of your own individual lifestyle: whether this is seeing motorway signs clearly whilst driving your car, or using computers for work or pleasure.

The correct prescription can greatly reduce the experience of fatigue and enable you to perform at your best, for longer - or simply help you enjoy your favourite book or Kindle.

NHS And Private Eye Exams Available

The whole family is welcome for an eye test at Pullen & Symes and we see both private and NHS patients. Children under the age of 16 or 18 and under in full time education are eligible for NHS eye tests. Please contact us with any questions about NHS eligibility.

Technology To Care For Your Eyes
Technology

Similar to how an ultrasound uses sound waves, an OCT scan uses light waves to take detailed 3D images of the back of your eye, all the way to the optic nerve.

Even the tiniest of changes of the eye’s structure may indicate the early signs of an eye condition. The earlier these conditions are detected the quicker treatment can be started to minimise their impact.

OCT Scanning

A retinal camera records a digital picture of the entire retina, blood vessels and optic nerve located at the back of your eyes.

This provides a permanent and accurate record of the health and condition of your eyes.

We can monitor any changing eye conditions to ensure that any appropriate treatment can be delivered at the earliest opportunity, improving the prognosis for diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension.
